Extreme dandruff Everywhere NOT only scalp. Going to dermatologist good idea?

What can they possibly do? Well i never gone to one, but i figure they will only tell me that i could have some extreme fungus.. But besides that, there is nothing they can do..is there? Besides prescribing expensive medsExtreme dandruff Everywhere NOT only scalp. Going to dermatologist good idea?
I would definetely go to a dermatologist , he'll probably help alot.Extreme dandruff Everywhere NOT only scalp. Going to dermatologist good idea?
It could be something as easy as seborrheic dermatitis so see a derm is a good idea. Simple meds or cream are not expensive. Getting it treated though is the only way to go to find out for sure what it is and the best way to treat it.
Ummm...yeah.
You won't know until you go...
you should go to the derm its the best thing
Just make sure they do not give a STEROID cream to deal with it because that will thin your skin in the long run. There are non steroid creams that are good. Secondly, i'd highly recommend an allergy test too. A friend who had a similar problem also went to a Chinese herbal doctor and he was given a list of things to not eat- it slowly improved...good luck!
a lot of dermatologists prescribe sarna lotion, aquaphor or eucerin cream for dry skin

they are OTC drugs

drink plenty of water avoid using too much soap it dries your skin

and use a cool mist humidifier indoors to moisten the air to make it less dry

it it does not resolve or reddens or oozes then see a dermatologist
