What do you need to do in order to visit a dermatologist, is this part of the NHS or not?

If your GP feels it is necessary to refer you to a dermatologist for an opinion it can be done either through the NHS of privately if you prefer. Either way the referral MUST come through your GP.What do you need to do in order to visit a dermatologist, is this part of the NHS or not?
it is part of the nhs but you need a doctors referral. Also, depending on your reason for wanting to go to a dermo the gp can either refuse to reffer you or try you with other medications first that they can prescribe. and that can take yearrrs! What do you need to do in order to visit a dermatologist, is this part of the NHS or not?
Dermatology is available on the NHS, but you would need to be referred there by your GP.
You need to have your doctor make a referral, provided the cause comes within the parameters of the NHS. If the reasons are personally cosmetic it is possible that you might have to go to a private source.

You would be advised to first consult your doctor, and take it from there.

Hope this helps

You normally need to be referred by your GP
Go to the doctors and they should refer you, if its necessary. You may need to ask to see one though.
yes it is part of the nhs but you do need a Referral from your doctor
As long as you have medical insurance, you can book an appointment. Are you employed? I use my company's benefits. I just looked up a derm, called them and set up an appointment. No referral was needed.
