My dermatologist is considering accutane...Good or Bad?

I have been going to my local dem for almost a year now, and if my last course of antibiotics don't work, then my dermatologist considered accutane. I heard it can work very well, but it can cause damage to your internal organs also. My dermatoligist has perfect skin and she had been on accutane. Please help! I've been referred a few times by my family doctor and dermatologist. But, an antibiotic I am on right now seems to work very well for the time being. I've been scared to try Accutane because before you go on it they tell you so many different warning signs/possible problems. My Dad was on it for about 2 years and I've known people to go on and off of it as they please. Nothing serious has happened to them. If it's what your dermatologist has suggested you should probably try it out.

I went on the antibiotics as well, and they lead to chronic systemic yeast issues which eventually lead to my intestines not being able to absorb nutrients and I developed leaky gut and was basically sick for a few years until I figured all that out. Report Abuse

I have been on it for eight years because nothing else will work. It has stolen most of my vision, my moods are completely screwed up and possibly will remain so even if I stop, I get heart palpitations, have had two suicide attempts, lost jobs and friends because I am so angry and impulsive from the drug, but my skin look fabulous. I will try going the all raw and all organic rout with food and bath, body and cleaning products in my home, and see if I can finally stop taking this life destroying drug.
