a dermatologist is a medical doctor who specializes in treating disorders of the skin. Hence, you'd need to attend an undergraduate school, obtaining training in the proper courses of chemistry, biology, math, as well as the rest of the well-rounded liberal arts categories. Then you'd have to attend four years of medical school, an internship and preferably a residency in medicine (or surgery) and then, if you're lucky, be accepted into a dermatology three year residency program. I say ';lucky'; because the dermatology residency admission is the most difficult of all residencies to get iin to in the country. So, not only would you have to go thru all of the above schooling, but you'd have to be the top student in your class in order to be considered for the residency program. Many programs, in fact, will only accept applications from those people who have obtained both the M.D. and PhD degrees. So, if you're willing and able to put in the effort, then best of luck to you.I want to be a dermatologist, what steps should i take?
