Is a dermatologist qualified to diagnosis a patient with Lupus (re: Michael Jackson)?

Michael Jackson's dermatologist Arnie Klein claims he had diagnosed MJ with lupus, justifying some of the meds he had prescribed to him. Would he as a dermatologist be qualified to make such a diagnosis? Is a dermatologist qualified to diagnosis a patient with Lupus (re: Michael Jackson)?
Yes, Lupus has skin manifestations and often patients with lupus present for the first time with these skin changes. the disease is usually managed primarily by a rheumatologist, but generally no one would have more training or experience in managing the skin manafestations than a dermatologist. because lupus can effect every body system there is usually a team approach to the management of this diseaseIs a dermatologist qualified to diagnosis a patient with Lupus (re: Michael Jackson)?
Yes, discoid or skin lupus is diagnosed and treated by a dermatologist. It is diagnosed by skin biopsy.

Systemic lupus is treated by a rheumatologist and other specialists to deal with the organs affected by the lupus. This varies from patient to patient.
i assume so since he deals with the skin....people go to dermatologist to ask about their skin problems
