  • Dermatologist visit.......What happens??? Please answer?

Ive have really bad acne on my back, chest, and face, so my doctor has reffered me to a dermatologist.

When you go to the dermatologist what do they do?

Do you have to remove all of your clothes?

    ThankyouDermatologist visit.......What happens??? Please answer?
No, you will not have to remove your clothes. After you are sent to a room, a nurse or medical assistant will come in and get some information from you about your skin and any allergy's you may have.

Then the Dr. will come in and take a look at your skin, ask a few questions and decide what the best treatment plan for your is.

You may leave with a few samples and a prescription for a topical or oral treatment.Dermatologist visit.......What happens??? Please answer?

I had bad acne as a Kid and I tried hard not to Scratch...

My sister is a different story. She has pot holes on her face. I suggest Geslin's Scar removal Cream. i used on a wicked scar on my shoulder and it is almost unnoticeable.

What happens at a dermatologist examination?

anyone know? What happens at a dermatologist examination?
    I just went..

I had on shorts so I didn't undress..

But normally I think you would be undressed with a gown on

and the Doctor just checks any freckles and moles to make sure they are normal..pretty simple

    No xrays..

Pretty painlessWhat happens at a dermatologist examination?
it's pretty simple, i used to see a dermatologist regularly. she would just come in. look at my face under one of those medical lights. feel my skin with her hands. then ask me a few questions and prescribe some medicine. it only took a couple minutes.
When you go to the dermatologist they usually have you put on a gown or shorts. The doctor will look at all of your skin for anything suspicious (sometimes in your scalp too) There's nothing scary about having this exam done. They usually won't look at your privates unless if you have a concern. If the dermatologist finds anything that looks suspicious they will usually remove it and have it sent to a lab to make sure it isn't skin cancer.

With that said, you really shouldn't be iron-setting your goals in eighth grade. I'm a senior in high school, and I'm still ambivalent about what I'm going to major in. Physics and neuroscience both interest me (among other subjects), and I know that the limited experience I've had in high school is not giving me a realistic perspective on additional subjects that might intrigue me.How much do dermatologist make in there first year?
A first year attending Derm will make roughly $250,000.00 annually. Report Abuse

lol 100,000 haha you wont become a doctor if thats the only important question on your mind... it depends how good your skills are, and what position you get to. Don't expect to pick a figure out of the sky and realistically think its reachable.. its not..although dermatologists make good money I can't give you any figures sorry.

i have a problem with my eyes now , they have like an extra eyelid and

the skin under my right eye is red like a racoon

    im only 18

so who do i go to with this type of problem?

thnx.To who do i go to: a dermatologist, optometrist or opthomologist?
You should go to your own GP first and then he will refer you to whoever he thinks will help you.To who do i go to: a dermatologist, optometrist or opthomologist?
With this is can be tricky. I think that you should make a doctors appointment if its really bothering you go to the ER. Red eyes, if they itch it could be red eye witch is bacterial and is highly contagious. I think you need to see a doctor. Only they can deal with a situation like this.

Is being a Dermatologist worth it?

I know a lot of people who say that going into this field is very competitive. Also, approximately how much previous studying is needed? Also, is this a fun job? (stupid question, sorry). Is being a Dermatologist worth it?
Its fun but scary. People have all these crazy problems with their skin. I hope after every visit from one of them its not contagious.

Whats the difference between a urologist and a dermatologist? which one should i go to?

my knob is always red, at times the bottom tip of my penis inflames a bit, ive been urinating a lot, and i always feel a buring sensation down at the penis area , the pubic hair region always itches, i have been to the doctors, but they didnt no what was wrong, so where should i go to a dermatologist or a urologist thanksWhats the difference between a urologist and a dermatologist? which one should i go to?
Go to a urologist. If u are sexually active it sounds like u may have gotten a yeast infection and usually men get it from a female partner. there is definately something wrong and u need to get a second opinionWhats the difference between a urologist and a dermatologist? which one should i go to?
I def think you should see the urologist as his is the study of the urinary tact and everything connected. A dermotologist is just a skin care doc. You sound as if you have an infection of some kind.
keeping in mind a urologist is for the plumbing and a dermatologist is for the skin, your first stop if your sexually active is the urologist, and he/she may refer you to the derma guy next.

I'm pretty confident that I have Hidradenitis suppurativa - do I see a dermatologist or my doctor?

Beware that most doctors do not know about HS. Call and ask if the doctor is aware or has treated HS patients. Getting a doctor that don't know what he/she is doing can be very stressful for you. So please do your homework. It's worth the time to find the right doctor. Also if you go to www. HS-USA.org, on the top bar click on resources, click patient support, click doctor exchange, there is a list of doctors from all states that has treat HS patients. This list was put together by HSer's. I would also find a support group, you can get all sorts of good information and great support dealing with this disease. Wish you the best!

The dermatologist is a doctor. Some GPs know dermatology and some don't. It depends what you feel comfortable with.
This is a great resource for finding a doc.

    http://www.hs-usa.org/contacts/docexchange.asp

I FINALLY found a great dermatologist through these referrals. My regular GP diagnosed me but a dermatologist is a specialist and is more knowledgable in specific areas.
Its important to find ';a'; doctor that is familiar with HS. So if your primary physician or a dermatologist is familiar with it then either will do. Do your research.

Can I go to a dermatologist?

I have excessive underarm sweating and acne. Can I go to my dermatologist for these issues? I want to get the birth control option for acne and I'm not sure about the sweating. Thanks!!!Can I go to a dermatologist?
You have to go to a doctor first and then they will refer you to a dermatologist for your acne. Your doctor can prescribe you a prescription deodorant if you want. The dermatologist can also perform a procedure where they take a lazer to your underarm and eliminate sweating forever. Woo Hoo! Also, make sure that you completely dry your armpits before immediately applying deodorant. I am on a prescription for acne and I like it a lot. I think you really should go to the dermatologist if your acne is bothering you, even a little bit.

    Hope this helps!

I just read your additional details, and no, you don't have to go to the doctor.

best see a doctor or dermatologist for appropiate creams

Does it always take a dermatologist to get rid of skin tags, and if no what way can i get rid of a few myself?

No, you don't always need one. In fact, skin tags are very easy to remove. Just clip them.

However... it WILL HURT! That's why people go to dermatologists for them. Just use some sterilized cuticle clippers or something easy to hold and sharp.

  • Too minor for a dermatologist?

I'm thinking about going to a dermatologist for advice on skin care. Maybe looking into my skin type and an anti aging plan? Is this too minor to see a dermatologist?

I've only know people to go a dermatologist because they have acne or some disease. I'm 28 and I don't have skin trouble except for the occasional pimple.Too minor for a dermatologist?
He would probably be suprised that your in his office. But if you explain it as preventative care, he should understand. However, your insurance might find that as cosmetic and not necessary. Might want to check with your insurance, or if you want to pay out of pocket, then go for it.Too minor for a dermatologist?
The best anti-aging products I have found are available through Nutrimetics by Avalla. The products are naturally based. Nutrimetics offers highly effective and economical products that contain no cheap fillers, harsh chemicals or petro-chemicals (e.g., mineral oil, drying alcohols, or animal by-products).

The best product for anti-aging is called Nutri-Rich Oil. It was the founding product of Nutrimetics. There was a group of people called the Hunzas that were written about in National Geographic. They used apricot kernel oil to prevent wrinkles and the signs of aging. This group of people lived to be well into their 80s and 90s with NO wrinkles.

Nutri-Rich Oil contains this jewel, apricot kernel oil. In fact, it takes 42 pounds of apricots to make just one jar. This is an awesome nighttime treatment for your face. Just use a pea-sized drop every night before bed for soft skin that will be fighting wrinkles. It is also a good product for dry elbows, heels, burns, scars, protection from the hair dryer damaging your hair, a dollop will soften your entire body if you add it to your bath water, great for diaper rash, too. This product will last about 10 months if you are only using a 1/2 pea to a pea sized amount once a day. It is worth its weight in gold!!

You can order online at http://www.myavalla.com/us/pwp/jmarshali鈥?/a>

by using passcode E896670009711252C on the left hand side of the screen under Passcode.

    Good luck to you!
No, this is fine, but I would chose a dermatologist that specialises in anti-ageing treatments. I would highly suggest enquiring about the Obagi products for anti-ageing. For acne, the best topicals are benzyol peroixde treatments such as Proactive and Benzac. HTH : )
use proactive...if u only have and occasional pimple dont waste ur money on a dermatologist
well i mean if you dont have skin trouble u might not need to start an anti-aging plan, but going to a dermatoligst to see when you might need to start one and for skin advice is perfectly fine.
I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

    1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

    2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
If you have the money, or insurance, I think you should go. This is the prime time for you to take care of your skin. I am only 25 and I use anti wrinkle cream around my eyes, but I'm hoping when I'm forty, I'll be happy I spent the time and money to take care of my skin while I was young!
try Proactive i heard that works well well my mom uses it

Can anyone give me some feedback on a prescription? My dermatologist prescribed it, it's called Differin?

I used it before. It didn't really work for me, but everyone's skin type is different so give it a try. It did not dry out my skin, which was nice. Can anyone give me some feedback on a prescription? My dermatologist prescribed it, it's called Differin?
Adapalene. Usually works quite well as an anti-comedogenic agent.

Given if antibiotics fail to treat your acne

Vitamin A derivative, may cause you to get sun sensitivity so avoid the sun, or put on sunblock.

If this fails, you'll probably move on to oral vitamin A (ro-accutane/isotretinoin), and you cannot get pregnant when you take that!

Can anyone give me some feedback on a prescription? My dermatologist prescribed it, it's called Differin?
Differin is a trade name for a medication for acne vulgaris made by Galderma Laboratories. Its active ingredient is adapalene.

Differin works by modulating skin cell differentiation and growth and therefore regulating oil production and reducing acne over a long period of time. It has both exfoliating and anti-inflammatory effects. Studies show it is most effective on noninflammatory acne.

This drug will give much better results if a benzoyl peroxide wash is used morning and night and benzoyl peroxide lotion is applied in the a.m only along with the differin used in the p.m.[citation needed] However, unlike Retin-A, adapalene has also been shown to retain its efficacy when applied at the same time as benzoyl peroxide due to its more stable chemical structure.

I have SEVERE acne i have been to the dermatologist many times and have been given several medications?

i have scars all over and my face is not clearing up!! i have had this problem since i was twelve and im twenty and it seems to be getting worse. i have changed my eating style and i have used proactive, acne free, benzaclin, retin-a, clenia, and other things and an oral medication. is there anything else that i could use to clear up my acne and help clear up some of my scarsI have SEVERE acne i have been to the dermatologist many times and have been given several medications?
Like you, I had acne at a very young age (it started at age 11), and I felt like I had tried EVERYTHING! Finally, I tried accutane (as a last resort!). Have you heard of it? It is serious stuff! Your dermatologist will recommend blood tests and birth control if you aren sexually active; but it is soooo worth it! It got my acne under control, to the point where I can use drug store acne meds to keep clear. This medication is typically a last resort, because there are side effects; but if you have tried everything else, then I would ask your derm. about accutane. Hope this helps!

Plastic surgeon or dermatologist, which is better?

what are the pros and cons of being a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon?

in your perspective which one is better?

i know plastic surgeons make better money than dermatologists, but they get sued and pay a shildload of taxes/expenses.

please answer =]Plastic surgeon or dermatologist, which is better?
I worked at a hospital and heard one of the doctors say the best occupation was dermatologist:

    1) You don't get called out in the middle of the night

    2) If they have a dry rash you prescribe something moist

    3) If they have a wet rash you prescribe something to dry it upPlastic surgeon or dermatologist, which is better?
A dermatologist is a doctor that specializes in the skin. The focus on treating skin diseases. Once they complete medical school and become a MD, in order to become a specialist, they have to do more training - so it takes them longer to get out of school. They are also required to take a test, and sit in front of a board and answer questions reguarding skin conditions in order to become licensed and board certified. Dermatolgist, once in practice, work a 9-5 job Monday through Friday, and have repeat patients.

Plastic Surgeons can decide whether or not they want to do extra training in school, and are not required to become licensed in that field. Plastic Surgeons are not considered specialists by the medical board. They are not required to be board certified , but a good surgeon will go through that process. More plastic Surgeon's are sued for malpractice, then dermatologists. A plastic Surgeon can either open their own office and work 9-5 or they can work in a hospital 24/7 to treat emergencies.
I think you can specialize in both my plastic surgeon also provides skin therapy. I prefer Plastic Surgery.

    Is the dermatologist expensive?

I've been thinking about going to the derm for professional help. I have these old, red, acne marks that have been on my cheeks for over 4 months and still haven't faded. How much would it be for laser/dermabrasion/what ever kind of work he'll do? My insurance does not cover this procedure.

If it is expensive, what kind of methods/products will fade these marks? (mederma doesn't work)

Heard it was really expensive. A friends acne medication was over $200 so I can't imagine how much it will be for me.Is the dermatologist expensive?
Usually laser and micro-dermabrasion are not covered by insurance because it is considered cosmetic. My dermatologist was doing it at $200 a treatment and recommended 6-12 treatments.

I use Retin A Micro. It's covered by my insurance so I pay $25 for every refill. It's evened out my skin tone a lot. The marks are not scars so Mederma won't work. You need to allow your skin to exfoliate to get rid of the marks called hyperpigmentation. It takes time but Retin A speeds up the exfoliation process. There are also at home micro-peels you can do that will help. Olay Regenerist had a decent one for about $25.Is the dermatologist expensive?
You could look into purchasing your very own abrasive products and do it yourself. Oil of olay has some great products. Have you tried Pro-active, I have seen remarkable results from people who have used it. Yes, the dermatologist will be expensive, although you might be given a lot of samples to try out first at your very first visit. Most dermatologists do that for their patients with the hopes that they'll return. Good luck!
not if you have good insurance.
Laser treatments are EXPENSIVE anywhere from 2000-4000 depending on how many you do and where you go.
Yes, its costly alright!!! just use dermacare or proactiv. its clear skin on a budjet.
well if its that important to you get a loan...
mine was $100 for 5 microderms but they were having a special, i don't know how much it costs now
The medication can be expensive and any procedures will vary and depending on where you go can get pricey. But the visit itself should range 50 - 130 dollars depending on your area.
acne on cheeks could be an indication of too much tomatoes and potatoes in your diet try dove foaming face wash and maybe a 15 dollar face toning machine
all drs are expensive go on state health insurance
Laser treatments is your best bet. You need to really shop around for an affordable doctor. try aloe vera before paying

    for it.
see the dermatologist as a consult for your skin problems. your primary care doctor can write a referral that will be covered by insurance. discuss options at the appointment.

  • Will the dermatologist give me something if I go?

Ok I don't constantly have pimples or break-outs,but about a week after I my period I get around 5,give or take, pimples on my face. They are VERY,VERY painful, and around them they are very red. Is it normal or even if so will the dermatologist give me some cream or face wash for it?Will the dermatologist give me something if I go?
Well, since you have sensitive skin and develop breakouts, your dermatologist will definitely prescribed you any cream or facial wash that suits your skin type and could combat against blemishes and yet, work gentle on your skin. You could inform your derm that you have sensitive skin or if you're not that sure about your skin type, get a skin analysis from your dermatologist. With this,it is easier for you to determine which products that work for your skin. You could also ask for pills to cleanse your body system and improving your breakouts.Hope I helped(:

P/s:Do avoid using products that contain herbal ingredients since it will irritate sensitive skin.I do have sensitive skin too and for now,I only stick to hypoallergenic skincare products.Hope I helped(:Will the dermatologist give me something if I go?
its normal to get zits before, after or during your cycle. your hormones are doing their thing. the skin doc probably wouldn't be too helpful unless you press the issue that you've tried everything (over the counter acne creams, no zit popping, not a lot of greasy food, pat your face dry after washing - not rubbing it dry) they would probably prescribe tazorac or benzaclin gel. they're just topical creams. benzaclin is intense but helped me with small acne problems over night
wash face twice a day and put aloe vera gel on after each washing rub it on like lotion all over your face. works for me.

Aloe vera is a plant it is natural and harmless. My skin is very sinsitve too. The gel is clear and green.

You can start right off being one, but you need about 3 years of experience so volunteer to be an intern real young and you can put that down for experience.

Find out where you want to work and their experience range (if not an exact number) get the median experience range as an intern after medical school.

In high school, you will be have to take many required classes for graduation. A dermatologist is a medical doctor who specializes in disorders of the skin. In order to become a dermatologist, you will need to go to medical school so I would put considerable effort into all your high school classes and especially everything related to math, science and writing. These will be important towards your future career and acceptance into the college and medical school of your choice. Good luck! Study hard!

A dermatologist nurse does NOT need to go to medical school.

To become a dermatologist, you will need to spend apx12 years in school after high school. Your grades in high school are important for getting into the university and med school. Your studies will include:

    4 years of university

    4 years of medical school

1 year of internship (if you take all these years in school(

    3 years of dermatology school

Now...there are colleges that mix a real college and medical school. I can email you information bout those and condense 8 years into 6! There is probably a way to shrink dermatology school as well. I can find out for you? At least one year internship, I am afraid.

To be a dermatologist you need to always get training every few years to keep up. I would say take a course every 5 years. Some never leave training.

If you tell me your location i can give you a grand salary pay for that or any job with premium results!

If you don't go to medical school you will most likely make under 100,000 dollars.

Now like me, the spa business might interest you? You could make a lot of MILLIONS with an m...and you are almost guaranteed to have at least how much as you make as a dermatologist! Just get a great location. LA!! Make it big. get a loan. hire a lot of staff. charge everything over 80 bucks and all massages over 115. I can give you much more information about that as well.

And yes, all information is free.

If you become the owner of a spa you can than hire and be the boss of dermatologists! =o)

I can give you more information if you'd like.

    You're welcome.

Lukesinclair770@yahoo.comI'm looking into a career as a dermatologist, info, please?
A dermatologist is a medical doctor, so you would need to go to college and do a pre-med curricula (biology, physics, calculus, chemistry etc) and then apply to med school and do 4 years there, then internship %26amp; a residency.

In high school focus on getting good grades, doing extracurricular activities that demonstrate leadership, creativity, responsibility, initiative, etc. Take as many science classes as you can but keep a well-rounded education in mind as well. Good luck.

I have bad acne, but we can't afford those expensive products or a dermatologist!?

My acne isn't cystic acne, it's mostly red and inflammed. But it does sometimes cause pain. I really need tips to help me get rid of all this! I ask my mother if she can take me to a dermatologist but she just says ';No, it's just a phase, you'll grow out of it, and besides, we can't afford it!'; We also cannot afford products like proactive or murad. My skin is pretty sensative also. Please help! All your help is greatly appreciated!I have bad acne, but we can't afford those expensive products or a dermatologist!?
I have very sensitive acne-prone skin. Take this from someone who has tried EVERYTHING (proactive, acne free, clean and clear kits), the best grocery store product I have used is Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Stress wash and scrub. It really gets deep down in the pores to heal your skin and keep the oil out and has green tea to soothe and reduce any redness.

Use the scrub 1-2 times a week in the shower when the heat opens up your pores and the wash 2 times every day. I use Clean %26amp; Clear's Dual Action Moisturizer after and then a spot treatment prescription called Retin-A from, but I hear Clean and Clear makes a good spot treatment too. I blot any oil off my face throughout the day with Clean %26amp; Clear's Oil Absorbing Sheets. Those can be kind of expensive but you can even blot with tissues if you find your face getting really oily. I think all of these products are between $3 and $7.

No matter what you use, wash your hands before ever touching your face even if you are putting a product on it, and lay off the coverup makeup as much as possible (I only use a tinted moisturizer and powder for my face)...these are little things but will really help you in getting cleared up.

Taking care of your skin professionally CAN be extremely expensive but maybe try explaining to your mom why you think it could be a worthwhile investment. I have friends in their mid-20s who are still suffering from Acne...a pretty long annoying ';phase'; if you ask me. Why not invest a little money now and just get it taken care of? In the long run it will probably save you money from trying everything at the grocery store.

I'm a poor college student but I have kick-butt insurance so the dermatologist isn't all the expensive. In fact, I get a chemical peel twice a month that is completely covered by my insurance because it's written up as surgery. Celebrities love these to keep their skin healthy and flawless and can cost up to $150 a treatment but mine is free. I swear by it and it may be worth looking into.

Also maybe consider going on Accutane. It too can be expensive but using it for just a couple months can get rid of your acne for life. My acne has never been severe enough for my Dr. to prescribe it (even though I've begged and pleaded), but three of my siblings used it in high school and it was nothing short of miraculous for them.

Good luck! Remember that the majority of people have struggled with acne and it freaking sucks but there's a lot of ways to fight it.I have bad acne, but we can't afford those expensive products or a dermatologist!?
    1. Search the internet for home remedies. There are so many you'll def. find something that'll help you out. (like toothpaste, masks, etc.)

    2. I think Clinique is a great brand for the skin. Their products can be pretty expensive though. But I use their face/body soap which is $12 and their Emergency Acne Solutions which is $13. Even if you don't want to use Clinique. I suggest you buy a soap meant to treat acne. (available at drugstores) %26amp; then a specific intense spot treatment to directly put on the pimples. (At least, if you don't wish to buy a kit)

    3. There are also many drugstore acne kits that work well. I would suggest Neutrogena's Acne Solutions. Its maybe 20 dollars? If your mom won't buy it for you, I suggest you make some money for it. It's not incredibly hard to earn $20 dollars. I think Proactive is around the same amount as well.

    --- Hope I Helped!!
i use the cheapest sensitive baby wipes, i was unfortunate enought to get spots in my late thirties, so i started to remove my make up after lunch time then after moisturizing i would reapply my make up, when i got home from work at 6pm i would remove my make up and on alternate nights use masks... first night was a vitE mask then a clay/mud mask on the second night. I would rest on the third just applyin lots of moisturizer after about two week i saw a difference in the texture of my skin.

    Good Luck x
first things first, never get proactive!!

once you do the full treatment, you have to use it for the rest of your life

my friend has really bad acne too, and she uses clean and clear. her acne is like yours and it is almost gone. Its really cheap and you can buy it at any drug store. rite aid, cvs, walmart, etc
My older sister had the exact same problem as you. She tried ProActive and it didn't work for her! Instead she started using this product that they sell at WalMart. It's called Acne Free and costs around $23 for the set. It works great and my sisters results have been amazing. I too use it and my skin is completely clear. Try it and i hope it works for you too!
try clean and clear foaming facial cleanser. It strips your face of bacteria, so acne doesn't get worse, but it wont get rid of the pimples. Also try oxy, i know people who use it, and they like it.
same here just try simple little things like putting toothpaste or shaving cream on ur zits before u go to bed or try putting lemon juice on your faceat nite then after u apply the lemonjuice put on babypowder just simple things like that

    best of luck-medina
clean and clear is the best.

    i used the persa gel.

    its a small bottle.

    but its powerful.

    its kinda like a mask.

but you just put it on the areas that need it the most.
proactive really isn't expensive at all!

The whole system is only $20. That's actually cheap!

You also will get many special offers with it.

    So, I'd get proactive.
try honey it works or salt

drink some herbs or but wash your face with them it works

or drink homemade juice like from apples or carrots :D
sell your computer and use that money to buy face stuff
Proactiv and Murad don't work anyway they shred your skin with their ';gentle exfoliaters'; and thus cause more breakouts, that's why you can get it directly sent to your house every month, it's a scam. I never had insurance when my acne was at its worst and I survived on over the counter creams and face washes. You have to find something that is both moisturizing and effective in cleaning the dirt and excess oil off your face at the same time. AND you have to give a product at least 3 months to see if it will work for you...I learned that after I got married and could afford a skin doctor. Even after going to a dermatologist she suggested that I use Noxzema deep pore cleanser (which is medicated with Triclosan, an anti-bacterial ingredient. comes in a tube with an orange cap) I wash with that 2 times a day and then apply a light moisturizer ( I liked Neutrogena oil free moisturizer with spf 15) then I would spot treat each pimple with a benzoyl peroxide cream of no more than 5%. Some stores sell it at 10% strength, but it is extremely drying and thus in turn causes breakouts. Make SURE you are using a moisturizer with a sunblock everyday, I swear it helps. You can also use a toner or astrigent if your skin is extra oily, I use Burt's Bees garden tomato toner or simple witch hazel astringent. All of these products are less than 7 bucks and you can purchase them at Target, Wal-Mart etc. I know it is frustrating and it can make you feel embaressed and singled out, but after I turned 20 It started clearing up by itself little by little. I am 23 now and I see a dermatologist once a year to keep up the progress and to get screened for skin cancer. hang in there.
There's two things you need to deal with acne: clear pores and moisturized skin

You can sort the pores out with an exfoliating scrub, here's what I use and it works better than any store-bought stuff: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php鈥?/a>

To moisturize you don't need anything fancy, I use vitamin E oil. Go out and get yourself a cheap, store brand moisturizer and a bottle of vitamin E oil (health food stores will help you out with that) and mix a teaspoon or two of the oi into the moisturizer. I find it easier to put them both in a jar to mix it up, it's ridiculously hard to get it into bottles

    So here's my little routine:

In the morning exfoliate with bicarb soda mixture and them moisturize with the vit E/moisturizer solution

At night exfoliate again and put a little of the pure vit E oil on problem areas

My skin's clear enough that I don't even bother with foundation :)

ps. olive oil and salt make a fantastic shower scrub
I can tell you you, you're going to laugh when you read this. But it's honestly the best acne product ever. Desitin Creamy Baby Diaper Rash Lotion. (Okay laugh it up). I've been using it for about 2 months now. And my skin has never looked better. I've been struggling with acne since 4th grade %26amp; I'm now a junior in high school. My acne is finally clearing up since I've been using this stuff. I actually used this stuff as a joke for my mom. She said it would be funny if that was my miracle acne clearer, and what do you know, it was. Now I also have a habit of picking zits. So if I wake up with a pretty big zit because I forgot to take off my make-up or ate something that makes me breakout, I pop it. Desitin has really helped clear up any scarring from picking. Most scarring clears up within a week or two. Now the Desitin will instantly take out some redness from the acne over night. So if you get the red zits like me, you'll love this. I've been using this stuff for about a month or two now, and my face hasn't been clearer in years. Desitin keeps your face dry, but still moisturized. However, I do have to use Neutrogena Shine Control Blotting Sheets if I'm out in public so I won't have a shiny face. But to use this correctly, use it basically as a spot treatment. Put it on at night on each spot and rub it in. If you're face feels a little oily or greasy from it, just take a towel and blot your face so it's dry. When you wake up in the morning, same thing. So morning %26amp; night, and voila! This seriously was my miracle stuff so hopefully it can help you.

ps: some extra tips to reduce acne breakouts. Some foods, especially carbs can cause breakouts. So maybe try eating less of those. Drinking lots of water keeps you hydrated and keeps your skin cleaner. And don't forget to take off any make-up before you sleep. Clean your pillowcases at least once every week or every other week. Lots of dead skin and dirt on your pillow. And if you have bangs, try pinning them back at night so that any oil on your hair won't rub on your face. Hope this helps!
i had acne but not mega bad but anyways there are some virgin vie products that i used in my early teen they wernt even specially 4 acne but i went to one of those parties for virgin v and showed the lady my skin and she said to use these and they just seemed to clear up. was great.cant remember how long it took but put it this way i only brught 1 lot so must have worked using that.

    Thats all....

My dermatologist told me to use mderma for scars on my stretch marks, isn't there any sort of laser treatment?

I have old stretch marks all on the insides of my legs, I had a baby 2 years ago and I am only 23. I am on my legs all day at work and I come home and my legs are throbbing, I am still getting stretch marks but they come in clear. I am sooo embarrased, I have tried the trilastin (didn't work) I am very petite and not gaining weight. HAS ANYONE, had any microdermabrasion treatments or laser therapies on stretch marks...DOES IT WORK, HOW MUCH??? HELP ME I HATE THEM!!!My dermatologist told me to use mderma for scars on my stretch marks, isn't there any sort of laser treatment?
mederma may work on very new stretch marks, but not on older ones (once they become shiny silver). Instead, use MSM.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane). I think that's how its spelled... If you take this supplement along with using the cream version, any stretch you have will be repaired until you can no longer see it. This substance is the only one I know of which can penetrate deep into the skin to reach the stretch mark. Check out the first question I answered in my profile. It has more info and some helpful links. Good luck!My dermatologist told me to use mderma for scars on my stretch marks, isn't there any sort of laser treatment?
I am trying to show that I am a nice guy.

Retin-A has been shown to improve stretch marks (needs a doc's prescription).

The best option for significant reduction to almost-complete removal of stretch marks is a dermatological laser treatment designed to stimulate new elastic fiber and collagen grown in the marked areas. You need to find a doc that has done a lot of laser treatments. He can look at your skin and know right from the start how good the treatment will be.
I don't think there's a laser treatment for them, and if there is, it's gonna be WAY expensive. (Like $500-$1000 or more a treatment and you usually need a half dozen treatments.)

Microdermabrasion can hurt. They're kinda taking off the top layer of your skin. I had it once a facial scar and it HURT.
    How to remove stretch marks?

    http://www.askaquery.com/question/How-to-remove-stretch-marks%3F.html
no...its an over the counter cream...you can buy mederma at walmart. its about $13 a tube. and yes it does work on stretch marks!!!

i had a freind do the laser treatment and it did not work and then she was out big bucks!!
  • sun mask
  • I have Medi-Cal for my insurance do they cover visits to the dermatologist?

Since you have Medi-Cal, you won't have to pay to visit your regular doctor. Ask them for a referral to a dermatologist. If they won't give you one, find a doctor who will!

If you are having problems with acne, Pine Tar soap works terrific! Seriously! Call around to your local pharmacies until you locate some. A friend of mine bought some for her teenager who had boil like pimples and blackheads all over his face and back. After 2 weeks they are all gone! Pine Tar Soap is only about $4.00 a bar and is made out of the same thing that Drawing Salve for boils is made of. You could also buy a tube of Drawing Salve to put on bad pimples at night.

You can also buy some Retin A which comes in a tube and used to be by prescription only and will make your face peel drastically. (I was prescribed this about 26 years ago when I had a bunch of tiny bumps all over my face which turned out to be some sort of wart infestation! Within a day, my face began to peel in sheets and I swear it took off 3 good layers of skin and the warts as well!) Try the Pine Tar Soap first as the Retin A is expensive.

You can also dab Pine Sol on pimples with a Q-Tip. Because it is so strong, it will cause the skin to peel drastically. I used it to get rid of ring worm that I got from a friend's cat that I didn't realize was infested! Be VERY careful and only put a tiny amount directly on the pimple because it burns your skin (as does the Retin A) to cause the drying and severe peeling. Do NOT put it all over your face or you will be sorry!

Aloe Vera gel is fairly inexpensive and is a natural antibiotic and is also proven to heal scars. Buy some of that as well.I have Medi-Cal for my insurance do they cover visits to the dermatologist?
Not unless you have been referred to them by your physician..or you're an illegal alien.I have Medi-Cal for my insurance do they cover visits to the dermatologist?
just get some soap and water, it'll save you some money, as well as medicaid
You need to get a referal from your doctor for Medi-Cal to pay for it.

Hi. I'm curious about the hype Dermatologist are promoting and that is Thermage or Thermacool, RF controlled

heat, I understand the theory and suspect that it works, but I think there is also other methods that can be used at no expense to get from a to z. Meaning Collagen Shrinkage starts at a temperature of 150 F. Is there a means of heating your skin to that degree by using filament light, steam heat, radiant heat from a fire place, heat gun, ect. What is the damage to top layers of skin if it comes in contact with this temperature. Thank You Lori...Hi. I'm curious about the hype Dermatologist are promoting and that is Thermage or Thermacool, RF controlled
If you can withstand such heat it will definitely burn your skin. But this is not the idea of thermacool. The idea is to heat the inside layer of the skin while cooling the outside skin. If you can do that without RF then fine.

I am gonna see a dermatologist FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN?

I have a few questions first

Will they give me a perscription for my pimples and do perscriptions work?? Cuz i have used proactive and it worked for the first week and stopped after that and now i have alot pimples and will they drill into my skin to try and get rid of the acne and will the pimples seem really red for a while since they will drill into my skin cause that is what my dad saidI am gonna see a dermatologist FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN?
I have never heard of them drilling into your skin - scars.......... - anyway, they gave me an antibiotic and worked like a dreamI am gonna see a dermatologist FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN?
No worries, the dermatologist will likely just look (visually) at the problem areas and take a small skin scape (painless). Once the doctor has had time to review your case, he or she will make the final judgment as to what type of medication will work best for you. Although I do not have any personal experience with acne, I have read extensive reviews on various pharmacological interventions or treatments. It may take trying a few different medications - but you will eventually find one that works. Since there is great variation between medications - it is impossible to say what medication will: a. be benifical to you, or b. cause side effects - such as dry skin.
No, they most definitely will not drill into your skin. They probably won't do anything at the office to try to make the pimples go away.

There are a few options for prescriptions, and it will depend on the type of your skin, and your lifestyle.

Often, an antibiotic will be prescribed. Usually, this will make the pimples worse before they get better, as the infection will need to come out of the skin in order to really go away. This is usually quite effective.

Another common medication is Retin-A. What this does is accelerate the development of new skin, and the top layer will slough off. It is often not recommended for people are out of doors often, because too much exposure to the sun can be problematic.
it actually depends. i have been to 3 different dermatologists. some prescription worked fine, some did not. if it did not work, you have to go back to you dermatologist, or you have to be sure to go back on the check-up date that the derma told you. procedures on acne, would vary from case to case. there are a lot of options available right now. make sure u go to a reputable dermatologist.
Hahaha... drill into the skin? Ummm... no. They might do a scraping to make sure there's not infection... and if your acne is very severe they'll probably put you on acutane. I have 2 friends who took it in high school. It will clear up your acne, but you'll have to use sunscreen and chapstick religiously while you're on it.

Can teenagers go see a dermatologist?

    yes, i did when i was 16.

and i have known several in my family that have also.

good luck! Can teenagers go see a dermatologist?
Of course. Wat makes you think they can't?Can teenagers go see a dermatologist?
Absolutely, get that face smooth and silky again. Before you get the wrinkles, LOL
Of course. Most dermatology patienets are teens. If ytour question is ';can I go alone';, not unless you have your own money/insurance, and dont require any medication etc.
Certainly, Teenagers can see a dermatologist and with good results. My son had acne and he was treated successfully. My dermatologist recommends Cetaphil products as they are gently to the face. Good Luck!
I have seen a Dermatologist since i was 7 and had chicken pox that turned into a skin condition. So it's never too soon to see one. and Good Luck to you.

    Infectious Diseases Specialist vs Dermatologist?

Which seems to you like a better profession and why?

Also, why do dermatologist usually get paid more than ID specialists?Infectious Diseases Specialist vs Dermatologist?
This is strictly opinion. I agree with the above answers. Dermatologists can remove a skin tag or a mole and it gets billed as a minor surgery. The appearance to me is that most routine dermotology appointments are simple acne, psoriasis, mole screens, and cosmetic patients. An ID docs patients are probably more time consuming and complicated. However, I believe there is some overlap, both physician should have good knowledge of fungal infections, the derm in superficial infection, the ID doc in systemic infectionsInfectious Diseases Specialist vs Dermatologist?
Dermatology is a very difficult specialty to get into. But don't let that stop you from trying. Dermatology is a ';clean'; specialty dealing with the skin only, while infectious disease can get ';nasty'; at times and can involve other problems. I work in a derm office and we refer people to the ID when we can solve the problem. So it is highly rewarding to cure someones ongoing condition. Good luck to you and congratulations of choosing a noble profession.
Because there is more of a market for dermatologists. They offer laser peels and crap when no one has a mojor desease, and in big city's rich ladys will pay for it.

The market is not need based for a dermatologist. You can sell a desire that peopel percieve to be a need.

You will also be more popular if that matters if your a dermatologist.

Can you imagine going to a social event and certain clickish ladys wont want to ask what you did at work because its disgusting. Shallow but true.

Should i be a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon?

what are their pros and cons

what's the difference of their education

most of all can you be BOTH???Should i be a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon?
No,necessarily you wouldn't be able to pursue both careers due to the fact that you can only pick one specialty and residency position after medical school.Dermatology and Plastic surgery are actually completely different practices.Do you like improving the looks of others?Do you mind blood guts and gore? You can't really base it on salary because Dermatologists and Plastic surgeons both eventually start there own practices and bring in a certain amount of money depending on how many patients they have.Plastic Surgery usually is a hard residency to get into after medical school, from what I've heard. There isn't much of a difference in their education other than some Plastic Surgeons may complete fellowships after residency, which take more time but they are optional. It ultimately comes down to what area you think you would succeed in more.By the time you get to medical school and learn more about the fields you will be able to make a better decision...Good luck!Should i be a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon?
The problem with doing both is the amount of school involved and the fact that you really won't be able to perform your best. You could work towards plastic surgeon and take some electives in dermatology.

If you decide that you want plastic surgery, then you are going to need to pick a speciality within that field, like reconstruction or something. Plastic surgery though I think will leave you a lot more open to malpractice lawsuits. It also is a longer residency, were talking around 8 years schooling minimum.

Dermatology on the other hand is a rather straight forward education which is 2 years shorter. The pay is not quite as high, but you would save money in insurance, not to mention that there is a wider need for dermatologists then plastic surgeons.

    .
me personally would like 2 be a plastic surgeon!!

    Should I see a dermatologist?

I suddenly had an outbreak on my cheeks and my pores are becoming large and noticable. Also i will get pimples on my chin that stay under the skin causing large bumps with no head to pop.

I have tried a daily face regiment but i am not sure if it is making it worse.Should I see a dermatologist?
    sure! Y!A isn麓t a doctor ...

    bye...Should I see a dermatologist?
the pimples on you chin that are under your has nothing to do with a daily face wash regiment and/or the type of products being used. It has to do with you body not getting rid waste efficiently. Basically what is happening is the waste is now coming out through you pores...gross huh. You need to start drinking a lot of water...at least 3-5 bottles / day. Also, eat foods high in fiber such as brans and green veggies. Exercise at least 3 times a week and make sure you're sweating for a good 20 mins of those work-outs. Take a shower immediately after work and steam face and use cleaners on skin. Try Neutrena Soft Cleaners for sensitive skin also the facial Toner for sensitive skin. This should help you skin. Wash your face before you go to bed (before 10PM) and use a night creme maybe something with a vitamin C and/or A also on your skin. (at 10PM your skin starts repairing itself)
This actually happened to me too. My face was COMPLETELY flawless, with no pimples, whiteheads, or blackheads. And suddenly, I began breaking out and developing whiteheads on my cheeks and chin areas. I also had the same problem with the pimples on my chin with nothing to pop... I went to a dermatologist. They perscribed me two medicines, Clindamycin and Retin-A Micro. I used both and after about a month, my skin really started clearing up, You could try over the counter products such as Pro Activ. But if your skin is really bothering you and nothing is working, you should definitely see a specialist. It'll help!
Yes go to a dermatologist or your regular physician! I get the same pimples with no whitehead or blackhead to get out. I refer to them as facial cysts. They really suck, they hurt and are embarrassing and no daily face regiment or expensive acne program will fix it, trust me I've tried them all; proactive, acne solutions, etc. You will have a better outcome if you see a professional about it because they have test, charts and medications that will help. I'm actually going to go see my physician soon too just for the problem we share. Good luck to you!
I used to be just like you, however this was a daily thing. My face would have red pimples that look like bumps because they were not on top of myu skin. They would really hurt. I tried alot of things and they work for a day. I tried proactive and it made it even worse. I was reffered to the cream, dermovate, i bought it for 8 dollars at a beauty supply store in NY. I works Miracles. I strongly recommmend it before you go throught the process of a doctor.
Yes he could probably find a good face wash or a medication for you!! : ] GOOD LUCK! please answer my question!! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
I think you might be able to research before spending a ton of money. You can get good (free) info about skin at www.acnearrior.com
I would definately go see one if this does not go away, try changing the products you are using. In my experience that I can't use clearasil things because they just make me worse.
I say to go and see a dermatologist, just to be safe. It could just be the facial stuff you are useing, or something you ate.
Dont waste your money. Go to dermatologist...its the only thing that will truly get to the cause of your problem.
Yes! I think you should see the dermatologist! I'm sure they will be able to tell you what it is.
See the doctor as soon as possible, before it's too late.

Why would my dermatologist tell me not to use moisturizer anymore? Now my skin is so dry. What do I do?

Ask the Dermatologist. Why would my dermatologist tell me not to use moisturizer anymore? Now my skin is so dry. What do I do?
Stop using soap on your skin in the shower/bath. Take only lukewarm showers every other day and rinse well but do not use soap. Soap dries out your skin and lotions are full of chemicals, unless you can make your own or buy organic, natural skin care products. You may also be allergic to a chemical in lotions.

How would a dermatologist treat ';skin tags?

what are skin tags caused by, are they a sign of cancer? How would a dermatologist treat ';skin tags?
Skin tags are common and are not cancerous. They can be removed by the following methods

    1. applying liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy)

    2. burning them with electriocautery

    3. tying a cotton thread at their base and leaving them to shrivel offHow would a dermatologist treat ';skin tags?
skin tags are normal and are not remotely related to cancer

treatment is to freeze them off using liquid nitrogen. usually the dr can treat a few at once. i saw a patient once who had loads on her neck, she was coming in every week to have another 6 or 7 frozen off.

no sign of cancer as far as i no but they get them of with the ice stuff that is really hot lol if you only have a few of them ..... they burn each one of individually...... if you have lots they get a spray that burns them off they spray that spot in about 24 hours they could come off =]... hope i helped!
tie a piece of cotton around the end closest to your body and it will drop off after a few days, as the cotton know stops the flow of blood.
i just pull mine off :P

    seriously lol

What does a dermatologist do? or what is it?

and who are the people that look at infected nails? arent they called Dermatologist? or am I just plain wrong? What does a dermatologist do? or what is it?
A dermatologist deals with skin...I think infected nails would be a general practitioner. What does a dermatologist do? or what is it?
Dermatologists. They're skin doctors. Specialize with skin. :]
Yes - It's just a skin doctor. But most things that are common like nail fungi can be easily diagnosed by even a basic doctor you go to for a check-up or for a bad cold.
Yeah Idk what ur talking about infected nails but dermetologists look at your skin and try to do what they can for you. like if you have acne or milia, or whatever.
    lmao no ur wrong.

    its a skin doctor
skin doctor. If somebody have skin problame go there
a dermatoligist is a skin doctor that you can personally get that will help you with your skin. affected nails??? nooo not dermatoligists.

derma means skin, i know that is a fact.

igist means specialist in, i know that for a fact

    they do not examine hair

a dermatologist is a doctor that works with skin... a dermatologist expecially works with acne...

and I don't know the name of people who look at infected nails...
They are doctors that specialize in the skin....Acne...Moles...warts and stuff
dermatologist are people that look at ur skin, face, and hair.
dermatologists do anything and everything to do with skin. they help with acne, moles, and some (not sure if all do) botox injections.

I believe podiatrists would look at infected nails. (if it's on your foot I assume) If your having a problem with your fingernails, you could simply go to your regular doctor and they could refer you to another place.
Okay a dermatologist is a person who looks at your skin. If you have acne or even warts maybe a weird freckle or mole you would go see a dermatologist. If you had an infected nail try seeing what your primary phyiscian can do about it. If they do not feel qualified to treat your hand then ask them for a referance to someone else.
A dermatologist is a 'skin doctor'.
  • sun mask
  • Who would cost more for cosmetic treatments? A dermatologist or a laser center?

What kind of procedures? It could be covered by your insurance if you go to the dermatologist. So I would say laser center would cost more. (they may do price matches)

If a dermatologist removes a hair follicle, will that permanently remove the hair?

I have hair under my chin and im sick of waxing and plucking and i dont want to do laser or electrolosisIf a dermatologist removes a hair follicle, will that permanently remove the hair?
I had surgery to remove a hairy mole on my face and afraid I still get hair in the spot. Tried electrolysis on my upper lip and it didn't work so afraid I've come to the conclusion laser is the only solution.

Is there anywhere online to talk to a dermatologist in a chat-type forum?

Can i go to the walk-in clinic to be refered to a dermatologist?Instead of waiting for an appointment w/doctor

I dont want to wait for a doctor's appointment (because it takes forever!)... the wait is toooo toooo long.

*Can i go to the walk-in clinic instead to be refered? (obviously not the emergency care clinic)Can i go to the walk-in clinic to be refered to a dermatologist?Instead of waiting for an appointment w/doctor
Typically walk-in clinics are reserved for simple diagnosis, such as ear infection, strep throat, cold virus/flu virus that may have turned into a bacterial infection therefore needing antibiotics, etc. Even though the wait to see your regular physician can be frustrating, it is typically the only way to get in to see a specialist by being referred. However, check with your insurance and also the dermatologist you wish to see, as some allow you to make direct appointments without referral.

What are the requirements for becoming a dermatologist?

Pre-med (prereq's for medical school), taking the mcat (medical college admissions test), medical school/intern and then residency (where one specializes in the branch of medicine that interests them). One's grades in prereq's as well as overall gpa (grade point average) should be stellar as competition is keen to gain acceptance into med school. Most aim to get into a few different medical schools due to the competitiveness and each med school may have their own prereq courses that they would like to student to have had. ('Human anatomy' doesn't usually transfer but instead most schools want 'anatomy and physiology' as a pre-med course.)

For general info: http://www.bls.gov/oco and search 'physicians'.

http://www.wikipedia.org albeit not for professional work and search 'dermatologist' or 'medical doctor'.

Youo have to enjoy getting under people's skin.
You have to become an MD, complete residency, then take additional training in that specialty.

I have very sensitive skin. My dermatologist has told me to only use Cetaphil cleanser to wash my face, but?

it doesn't take off my makeup. I use bare minerals makeup so it isn't like I'm using a really heavy makeup or anything. What's another face cleanser, as gentle as Cetaphil, that will also effectively remove my makeup?I have very sensitive skin. My dermatologist has told me to only use Cetaphil cleanser to wash my face, but?
My ethstitician who does my facials suggested I try a brand called Dermalogica for face wash and skin care. It is very mild- but leaves you feeling clean and fresh. It is kind of expensive but super hypoallergenic. Good luck, sensitive skin is such a bummer.I have very sensitive skin. My dermatologist has told me to only use Cetaphil cleanser to wash my face, but?
my cousins and I all use a little vaseline or crisco around the eye area before we go to sleep, it takes off the makeup and mosturizes the eye area, and since both are pure, they won't irritate your skin.
Why don't you ask your dermatologist? They told you to use Cetaphil for a reason.
There's a brand called Simply Pure. It's a cleanser for the most sensitive skin and takes off makeup. Also, the Dove Bar would be great for you. Neutrogena's Foaming Cleanser is also good, recommended by my dermatologist, but I don't know if it is sensitive enough for you. Good luck! I hope you find something.
when your wearing make up your ment to pre cleanse and then cleanse

meaning cleanse then cleanse again or get some baby wipes ,make up wipes or make up remover to help getting your make up off then use cetaphil
    puritycosmetics.co.uk is a good brand.

honey is not a good choice...even though this seems like a bad thing...i would go to another dermatologist to see what they can do to help...every dermatologist isnt the best..thats why you have to find a very good one...
Call back the doctor and tell him what happened exactly. This does happen sometimes, prescriptions react differently on people. For now, cold water on your face to calm the burning. If you have Vitamin E oil just dab some on the irritated spots. Don't worry doctors cannot always predict what will happen but know how to fix it. At the same time, did you use it properly. At any case don't worry. You will be fine. Take care.
Not sure how bad of an area you are trying to bleach, but I had a LOT of sun damage to my nose, which caused so much freckling that it turned it brown. eeek. I used Retin-A for about 3 months and there is not one trace of freckling on my nose currently, it got rid of all of it. Not sure if it would work for you or not, but you might want to investigate.
You definitely need to let your dermatologist know. You might be having an allergic reaction to the cream. I went to a dermatologist in Jr. High. He had me take Retina for my acne and it caused my skin to become so sensitive to the touch that if I scraped my skin it was then raw. I wouldn't use anything else on your face until you talk with your dermatologist because it might have a reaction with the medicine you already are putting on your face. If your dermatologist will not prescribe something better and different to you, I would then find another one and then let them know your situation and what happened to your skin.
The dermatologist should be notified of this problem and to advise you on what to do.

Don't think their are to many derm doctors on here do you think?

Is a dermatologist the doctor i would go to in order to remove a wart on my leg?

Yes, dermatologists deal with skin and skin issues. But I would definitely try your primary care doctor first. It may be something that they can remove without going to a dermatologist. They also sell wart removal creams, ect... in the grocery stores or a drug store. Is a dermatologist the doctor i would go to in order to remove a wart on my leg?
A wart or a mole? You can buy medicine yourself to get rid of warts. Or your regular primary doctor can give you medicine. You could see a dermatologist though to make 100% sure it is in fact a wart.Is a dermatologist the doctor i would go to in order to remove a wart on my leg?
i had one on my finger and i went to my regular doc. She suggested me to put a piece of duct tape over it. My own doc i kno!!! But i had her freeze it off anyway, and it blistered first then just peeled right off. It took about a week total

Had cornrows last year, should I see a dermatologist to check for signs of alopecia?

And what makes you think you have that?

Chap here at work has it, and his hair falls out in small clumps at a time, so his head has about five small gaps where his hair should be - so hes off to get his head shaved this week

Can I go to a dermatologist?

I don't have severe acne I just have some black heads and a few pimples. My skin isn't perfect though it is a little blotchy and oily. Could I see a dermatologist just to help me out and reccomend some products even though I really don't have skin issues??? Thanks! Can I go to a dermatologist?
I have mild acne and my dermatologist recommended some products to help me. You can go if you have mild to medium acne.

You can go if you want to.Can I go to a dermatologist?
You could go to a Dermatologist if you really feel like you need too.

But there are LOTS of products out there, that will help clear those problems up.

One of the best brand names for getting rid of acne, is Proactive.

But, I'm pretty positive you have heard of that product name.

If you don't feel like spending the money on that type of stuff,

another good product which is also cheap, is all of the Biore products.

I have been using biore for a couple of years now, and it has been amazing for me.

Just check out there stuff, and I'm sure you will find something out there that fits your personal needs for acne, pimples, blackheads, etc!

    I hope this helped!
    Hi Addie,

For acne I recommend the ';Nu Skin Clear Action'; system. This is clinically proven to give you a smoother, clearer skin as it fights past, present, and future signs of breakouts. For example, the ';Day Treatment'; erases the signs of past breakouts as it quickly fades dark spots on the skin's surface and the ';Night Treatment'; diminish the appearance of remnant marks associated with past breakouts.

I spoke with a woman whose son had an acne problem and was using another very well known product. I spoke with her again around one month after switching to Clear Action and she said there was a big difference in his skin. She said she was surprised by how well and fast they noticed the difference. Her son was very pleased.

If you are looking just for a spot treatment I recommend the ';Epoch Blemish Treatment';.

If acne is not really an issue and you are just looking for a good system to use, I would recommend ';Nutricentials'; Combination to Oily as these products efficiently retain the skins own moisture without producing excess oils. These products help minimize shine and free pore-blocking debris while promoting skin softness.

Our skin has basic needs - cleansing, toning and moisturizing and beyond the basics it has other needs as well. It is best to start with a proven basic system that works with your skin type.

    Following is a link where you will find each of these products. When on the following site remember the following: 1) top right corner select your country 2) select ';Shop'; 3) bottom right corner select ';Full Catalog';
You can but baking soda is very good for getting rid or black heads and other oils and grim that cause pimples. Just mix water with baking soda to form a gritty paste. Put all over your face and let sit for like 20 min and then rinse off. For oily and blotchy spots use a cucumber cream and black tea mask.
its really not neccessary haha just buy some acne products..
anyone can go to the dermotologist if they want to??
