I worked at a hospital and heard one of the doctors say the best occupation was dermatologist:

1) You don't get called out in the middle of the night

2) If they have a dry rash you prescribe something moist

3) If they have a wet rash you prescribe something to dry it upPlastic surgeon or dermatologist, which is better?
A dermatologist is a doctor that specializes in the skin. The focus on treating skin diseases. Once they complete medical school and become a MD, in order to become a specialist, they have to do more training - so it takes them longer to get out of school. They are also required to take a test, and sit in front of a board and answer questions reguarding skin conditions in order to become licensed and board certified. Dermatolgist, once in practice, work a 9-5 job Monday through Friday, and have repeat patients.

Plastic Surgeons can decide whether or not they want to do extra training in school, and are not required to become licensed in that field. Plastic Surgeons are not considered specialists by the medical board. They are not required to be board certified , but a good surgeon will go through that process. More plastic Surgeon's are sued for malpractice, then dermatologists. A plastic Surgeon can either open their own office and work 9-5 or they can work in a hospital 24/7 to treat emergencies.
I think you can specialize in both my plastic surgeon also provides skin therapy. I prefer Plastic Surgery.
