Typically walk-in clinics are reserved for simple diagnosis, such as ear infection, strep throat, cold virus/flu virus that may have turned into a bacterial infection therefore needing antibiotics, etc. Even though the wait to see your regular physician can be frustrating, it is typically the only way to get in to see a specialist by being referred. However, check with your insurance and also the dermatologist you wish to see, as some allow you to make direct appointments without referral.
