What would a dermatologist do about my acne? please answer!?

I've taken oxytetracycline for my acne and now I'm taking doxycycline. My doctor said if nothing is going to work she could refer me to a skin dermatologist..what do they do?? My acne isn't really really bad but its bad enough for me to worry about it. (I think my doctor knows its not the worst of cases too)

Just wondering what the dermatologist does for someone who's tried the different antibiotics but they haven't really worked (I have quite a few scars)What would a dermatologist do about my acne? please answer!?
I went to a derm a few weeks ago for adult acne. It wasn't bad, but they will give you a few options. Usually, they will tell you to go on birth control, take accutane, or give you some prescription washes and topical medicines. My derm gave me a prescription wash, a prescription cream, and an antibiotic to take to kill the bacteria causing the acne. Worked like a charm. He will also recommend different products for you to use and probably give you some samples. He will take your history of medicines into account and probably prescribe something stronger. What would a dermatologist do about my acne? please answer!?
A dermatologist a specialist doctor of skin diseases. He would give you some other medicines if you go to them.

But my personal experience says that never go to the dermatologist. I was prescribed some medicines which contained steroid and my acne were gone like anything. But from the next day I started having worst acne than I had before. At present I am taking Ayurvedic treatment which is better and removes any disease from the root.
I would check with different beauty salons in your area, see which ones offer facials, then start getting facials once a month till your acne goes away. I've gotten facials for years, they've helped eliminate my acne.
