What is the better Profession - A Dermatologist or a Dentist ???

Of course most of you know that I've been on a major job warpath, and would like to know what is the best career to you. Let me Explain:

A Dermatologist (I would like to be a Dermasurgeon) deals with the skin, the organ that show the most from the head to toes, as a Dermatologist period, you help some with their skin, since the ozone layer have been opening, many people have been getting sun damage and cancer, so this will be a good profession and pays in the $200,000+.

A Dentist (I would like to be a General %26amp; Cosmetic Dentist), works with the teeth, which are another main feature of the body, one of the important ones, lots of people get married or sometimes kiss, the teeth play a huge role in kissing also the apperence and set-up of the mouth, also your changing lives ';cosmetically'; and helping some body with their emotions and mental health. You recieve a 100,000+ and os a gppd profession.

So whic one do you think ??

Tell me anything about the 2 Jobs !What is the better Profession - A Dermatologist or a Dentist ???
well basically it all depends on what you feel comfortable in...

but but but... i think its good to become something that could help you and others... well, if you become a dermasurgeon you can save lives and it can help anyone world wide, so you can go to any country in the world and people will need you but if you become a dentist or go in orthodontics, it will be successful in USA, Canada, UK etc but not all the country's in the world will need you because although it helps a person in self-esteem and confidence, you can live without being treated for your teeth so the scenario is ' dentistry isn't in demand all over the world, where as a dermasurgeon is...' a person cannot live with cancer killing them where as a person can live without treated teeth...

anyway, hope this helps you... but become something that your inner-self wants to be not because people tell you too...do something that you enjoy... okay now you take loadz of care of your self...c ya... =) and best of luck and i hope everything goes well for you... =)What is the better Profession - A Dermatologist or a Dentist ???
dermatologist. more money, and you could save lives.
Both jobs are lucrative, again, echoing what others have said, you have to follow what you feel is best for you. Seond to that is the competitive nature of both of these fields.

Dental school is quite competitive to get into, so you have to do four years of college, with good GPA and activities, and do well on the DAT. Then four more years of dental school, plus at least one year of post grad training after you finish that.

Dermatology is competitive as well, first to get into med school there is college, MCAT, and applications. Then, to get into derm you have to have (usually) the top board scores in med school among all students, which is no small feat. After the four years of med school is a residency of 3-4 years in derm.

I suggest if you really want this and you're committed, the derm route is the best, medicine is tough but quite rewarding. If you're just out for money and fame, best stick to getting a business degree because either of these degrees take a long time and a lot of living like a college student for about 10 years.
Your answer should be passion. Money may be important but when alls said and done you probably don't want to look back and regret missing a chance to do what you would love to do the most. :)
In all honesty, only you can answer this question. Where does your heart lie? Money is great, but it doesn't make you happy. Which job do you see yourself being really happy to get up and go to in the morning? What would you rather spend most of your time looking at, nasty mouths, or nasty skin? They are both good professions to get into, but no one can tell you which one is better for you.

Good Luck!
definately derm! you get to pop really cool boils and cysts and zits.

you can make a difference in the lives a lot of adolescents struggling with acne

you can diagnose cancers and save lives

you can do so much more for people as a dermatologist. you can increase self esteem in so many people, people with eczema, psoriasis, etc, ... teeth are teeth. boring

plus you can do so many different surgical procedures and cauterizations, sutures and biopsies.. SO MUCH FUN
well it seems to be more ppl see their dentist more then they do their dermatologist, i think the field of dentistry is awesome and u can open ur own office and make a lot of money off it
A dermatologist is an MD with years of specialty training. A dentist has four years of dental school unless he specializes.
